The Impact of Organizational Inertia on Organizational Performance of Employees in the Jordanian Ministry of Health A Field Study

Abstract

This study aimed to discover the impact of organizational inertia on organizational performance of employees in the Jordanian Ministry of Health, and the study was applied on (349) people working in the Jordanian Ministry of Health, and developed a questionnaire to measure the consisting variables of the study were (34) items, including (28) items to measure organizational inertia and (6) items measuring organizational performance, were verified and proved that the questionnaire indicated an acceptable validity and reliability. The study results showed the presence of an impact of the nature of the promotion system, the capabilities and potential of the ministry, the level of skills and abilities of the individual worker, the policies adopted in the ministry promotion system, the culture of the ministry and the working conditions on the organizational performance of their staff members. In light of the results this study provided a set of recommendations including: the need to prepare training programs for employees of the various administrative levels, and work to bring about some changes in the civil service system, especially articles pertinent to promotion , and not to be only restricted to the seniority factor.
